our backstory

Pamela Sexton, Mom to Chef Ouita Michel and Penny to her childhood friends, was our inspiration for Penny’s at Pomegranate. Pam was an artist, writer, civic leader and lover of good food and interesting people.

She and her husband Bob Sexton lived right around the corner on Kentucky Ave., in a colorful home filled with Kentucky folk art and the happy sounds of friends and family.

We want our little spot at the corner of Clay and Main to be a bright and welcoming place, too. Where friends can meet for a bite of something tasty, catch up with a glass of wine, take home a treat for later.

As colorful, creative, and carefree as Penny herself!
